Has anyone any personal recommendations for a Handheld XRF Spectrometer?

1dave I've been looking at the Bruker Tracer 5 .... watched a paleontologist student using one in a trench analyzing soil profiles. Seemed to do a really good job in the field. Watched some surveying done by prospectors on surface rocks and again it appeared to give a good assay on the spot. I see this model runs about $4200 to $5200 +/- ... could pay for itself in one lucky day. Myself, I am wanting to look at some potential REE concentrates bearing ground. Thanks for helping me research this equipment.

1dave with one of these XRF scanner devices in your hands... you could start another book or two.

1dave I like Ernest Tubb and miss Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs too... We are all right behind you somewhere along the path of life. I believe these portable XRF scanners could be mighty useful for many purposes. Take care Dave, and a big thanks again for your help and for the many useful articles you publish.
