This was labeled "Blue R. Tumb. Ag." I'm trying to figure out the abbreviations. Is it blue ridge tumbleweed agate? A google search of that name brings up zero results. Can anyone break this code for me?

Could it mean “blue river tumbled agate” either agate from the blue river, or they thought it was a blue agate that had been tumbled in the river? It looks like there may be some dendritic inclusions toward the bottom of the stone, as oriented in the photo.

That’s a dang ol Montana agate Here's my thoughts... Yep...it's a Montana Agate. There's a Blue Creek that is a tributary of the Yellowstone River...where Montana Agates are normally found. My bet is this was found in Blue Creek and mislabeled as Blue River (which is actually in Colorado...so doubtful it came from there). The bottom portion is spot on (pun intended) for a Montana. What's cool about this one is the "bleeder" browns/oranges in the upper portion...

It does look a lot like a MA, but what about those initials?? No clue what they are.

thanks all! This is most helpful. I still can't crack the code but I like the blue creek angle, and maybe tumbled like lygore said? So blue creek tumbled agate? It's definitely a possibility
