This is my little girl, Cloud. She's my best friend and daughter (and the "hair" to my fortune). Loves people, introverted around other dogs, independent, and like all snow breeds, she's bloody minded when something interests her. Her main hobby was guarding the fig tree from possums at all hours of the night, and in the end I had to pull all the unripe figs off so I could get some sleep. Nice pic. I see back on the silos there is even a picture of me and Randy 😂 Stopped to let the hound sniff some rocks. Saw the likeness of a real rockhound. Was a great time.

All these wonderful images of dogs makes me sad... for ME. I can't have a dog where I live but I love them.
I have had cats for the past 20 odd years. Currently, we have Sid, the Cat From Hell. She was named after Sid Vicious from the Punk band Sex Pistols when we thought she was a he. She's a pisser with lots of attitude. She is an orange tabby and the most vocal cat I have ever had. Our a/c is out, so DH, Sid and I were chilling in the bedroom where we have a unit. We decided to mess with Sid, who was trying to sleep. We each called her name over and over. Without even looking at us- she just low growled as if to say, "Leave me the Hell alone!" She growls and hisses a lot, but it's more a means of communication than anything else. I love her spunk. Don't get me wrong, she'll scratch and bite, too, but rarely draws blood. She's a trip. We often say, "Why do we like her so much?" LOL!
Here she is moments after we captured her. Her feral momma had kittens in my yard. She has yellow eyes now and is 5 y/o.

I've posted pictures of Scout before, but here are they are again. The beach has always been his happy place, so I try to get him out there as often as I can. He's diabetic and has some sort of canine cognitive decline, so we're trying to enjoy our time with him! Cute lil rascal. I used to have a jack russel but he was short haired. I want to get another that’s wire haired down the road. I love that just out of bed head look 😂

Our two pets. Daisy is five months old and the larger "Big Guy" is approximately 30 years old. Daisy has been teething on everything she can get hold of and is getting some adult teeth now. The Big Guy has been teething for all of his 30 years and can get a little bit aggressive with it. Unlike Daisy who stays with us all the time, our larger pet is free range and stays outdoors as we couldn't potty train him and handle his temperment.

OK, so Rick got us on reptiles, so here's a couple of mine.
Emerson on the left, weighing in this morning at 15 lbs, Amelia (the bruiser) on the right weighing in at 21.
Both are captive bred Redfoot Tortoises, that I've had for the last 17 years since they were really small.
Amelia originally showed up in a small margarine container via the post office.
He (we found out that "she" was a male) has grown quite a bit.
Redfoots are fun, as they distinctive personalities, and are usually pretty social (when they feel like it). BUT, bare toes beware, it's fair game, especially to Emerson !

Very cool!!! I can vouch for their personalities. My daughter has one, too. It really surprises me how social they are. Fun.

Was not aware you had these. This is rad. As a keeper of exotics myself, I find this amazing. It takes a real love and appreciation for these types of animals to keep them, as the commitment to them is years.

I don't know if it's that rare down in Florida, to keep them.
Especially since it's way easier here, since they live in an outdoor pen in the yard, most of the year.
I think the trouble with land turtles & tortoises comes in, when people try to keep them inside year round.
I feel bad for those turtles, truthfully.
I have a couple of others, but they're feeling shy today, maybe later
Patty.... just put the sprinkler on for the torts at 98 degrees, they like it.

My phone is doing weird stuff all of a sudden. I long pressed on a photo of Charley and Roxie and poof the background disappeared. Anyway it looks kind of cool. Charley will be 10 yo in a few months and Roxie 8. Malinois are so freaking dope. I still Want one, as you and I were discussing previously before TomTom fell into my lap. It's going to be a ways out before I get another dog, but definitely going to get one once I have some more time on my hands. They are a very impressive breed.

titaniumkid - Cloud is beautiful, but I want to see the cute face! I've never heard of Bluey, but I loved reading your stories of your safari-wolf. rockjunquie - Sid is adorable, and an awesome name for such a nutty little cat! Maybe she just needs a Nancy RickB - Daisy looks like a sweet dog! BIG GUY - scares the bejesus out of me. Make sure he doesn't eat Daisy! How on earth did you end up with Big GUY?? All jokes aside, you are the first person I've ever heard of to have one of those as a pet! What do you feed it, nosey neighbors or jehovahs witnesses? (Sorry to all Jehovah's Witnesses, I didn't mean you should be feed to Big Guy, just don't knock on my door...) liveoak - Emerson and Emilia look like they are in love. Will/have they ever had babies? hplcman - Scout has such a cute face! Those beach photos are awesome! My geology teacher would have gone wild over the rocks in the background - he always showed us vacation slides of himself standing in front of rocks just like that! Anyway, i think it's awesome that you take Scout to the beach as often as you can... I'm glad you have this precious time with him! He makes me want to saw awwwwwwwe and kiss his sweet little face! Tommy - charlie and Roxy look like two very well behaved best friends. They are so adorable, always looking at the same scenery, like twin souls. To everyone - Thank you for posting all of your pet pictures!!! I love them all!

Sorry, tribeunited , no babies, both are males. Having grown up together, they are buddies. One of these days I'll have to get a video of them "communicating" with each other. It's a riot to watch. If I'm doing something in the yard & they can see me, they will go up to each other, with their heads together, and talk about it. At least that's the way it looks to me, they'll move their heads back and forth, look over at me, then do it some more. It makes me laugh The thing with tortoises, is that you can not tell the absolute sex of them, until they are older. So with my Redfoots, I got them as babies and named them. It just seemed odd to change Amelia's name after all the years. Some people suggest naming them something easily changed or gender-neutral name. But no matter, he comes when I call him (if he feels like it) so all is good.

That gator is not an actual pet of mine as I was jesting a little. I have interactions with the wild gators along the South Carolina coast where I go crabbing for a couple weeks at a time during the spring and summer months. Within the past two weeks he and his friends have eaten over $50. of my crabbing gear. I actually helped out a smaller four footer a couple weeks ago. I pulled in a heavy 30ft line (not a rope) that was snagged on one of my crab hoops. On the end of it was a gator who had swallowed someone's crab line which probably had a piece of chicken tied to the end of it. I pulled him in as he resisted and cut the line with a knife when I got him about three feet away. I figured it would be easier for him to pass a chicken bone with three feet of line tied to it than 30 feet of line.

The absolute knowledge of security they provide will be very hard to be without.

I didn't realize there was such a size difference. Charley's mom was pure mal but his dad had a touch of GSD which I think was intentional to bulk up the size. He actually has many GSD traits and has an "couch potato" setting which most pure mals don't have. Roxie was found as a year-ish old malnourished stray in a pot growing region of northern CA and her ears never stood up fully but she is pure mal in every way haha.

RickB - Joking or not, I can't believe you deal with this kind of wildlife in South Carolina! I thought that was only in florida or louisana. I'm reptile dumb. liveoak - LOL boys! I guess it would be hard to look under the shell for a turtle peeps or tweeps! Wait - am I allowed to say that here? Sorry went to R rating post! Please do post a video of the communicating when you get the chance. Would be awesome to see that.
