I have bought three different orders of UV Geodes from Rough Stone Rocks. None seem to glow under UV light. I have tested with a standard Black Light, a 365nm, and 395nm UV flashlight. None of those seem to get a glow from the UV Geodes I have bought from them. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had better luck when buying UV geodes from them. I am not bashing Rough Stone Rocks. I have had good luck with them when ordering other rock for tumbling. My only issue has been with their UV geodes.

wickedpebbles I watched only 1 minute into your YouTube video and the 1st. Mistake your making is you have the lights on uv lights work 10 times better when it’s dark. That’s why people hunt for uv rocks at night 2nd there is long wave 3 mid wave 4 short wave Each wave length I spoke of has a totally different uv (effect) 1)Long wave may show red or orange 2)mid wave May now show a blue stone 3) short wave May show up to sometimes 3 colors or just 2 or even a totally different color all together from the others But the very first thing you need to do is try your uv light in the dark that will give you a idea of what you have Uv light in round rock Texas has probably gone up in price with everything else a portable light that you can buy all 3 wave lengths separately one comes with the light so your only buying 2. They even send a sample of rocks with the light. I paid $85.00 with shipping. It uses d batteries that’s the only draw back the uv light sucks the life out of the batteries fairly quick but it works good for a inexpensive light. Unless you want to buy a expensive one around $800.00 or more that has all 3 wave lengths it’s rechargeable to that’s pretty handy

So I had to see if my batteries had any life left in them and just enough With out taking the light apart to see I believe this is long wave. Short wave is by far a better choice as it is more readily available to fluorescing a variety of rocks long wave is not as aggressive or as many This is chalcedony or chalcedony rose from Mexico First 2 with lights on no change 3rd there is a change with no lights on

No change. The light I used in vid is the same wavelength as the one the girl used in her video. I tested with two different light spectrum flashlights and a multi wavelength blacklight lamp that puts off 100nm through 420nm. The lamp should have lit it up. </b>

Well I don’t know what to tell you.
Except contact rough stone and see what they say. It’s possible they may have made a mistake. There’s only one way to find out. Who knows your order could have been put up on a busy day and May when been mixed up.

None of the three (all separate orders) glow. Just made me wonder if I was the only one. Thanks.

Well well then your not asking the right question then.
What wave length did they use? Not all venders selling uv black lights are really that comparable to fluorescing Rocks.
Remember there are 3 wave lengths on the other hand not all rocks will even show any trace of fluorescence. It’s the same deal as rocks from the same location will sometimes be completely different in pattern and or color.
You can experiment with money water marks will be fluorescent on most bills. Sometimes stamps, magic markers ect…
Just like testing the hardness of a rock dig in to doing some homework What house hold item’s are fluorescent, what wave length do they fluorescent under.
This will tell you if it’s your flashlight or a fluorescent uv light

wickedpebbles I've noticed that when I run my UV light over a pile of rocks that are all the same, or very close species that some will fluoresce while others will not. It would be easy for a vendor to assume his stash will fluoresce consistently and not even bother to check each individual stone. I don't know but it could be you just got some like this. Hopefully they will get back to you and resolve it.
