#2 could be Sheep Creek Dendritic/Plume Agate (from google search). Looks dead-on for Graveyard Point plume to me. I've seen lots of it.

gemfeller. Graveyard point plume was my very first favorite, but the samples I have are very puffy cloud looking, not with any black so I never considered that one to be the same. Thanks!

rmf - I came across another piece of that angel wing jasper. Here it is. Looks like Butterfly wing jasper to me though, that's why I asked you!

rockjunquie I found the cady mountain christmas tree, still haven't come across the other one I was thinking of... That's nothing like what I was thinking about. Picket or Pickett is like a plume/flame agate.

tribeunited That Angel Wing Jasper looks like a brecciated something else I can't put my finger on right now. rockjunquie thanks for the Pickett Plume/Christmas Tree Agate. If I can find only one piece I have to take the name but do not consider it authoritative until I see more than one. Sometimes it is difficult to know if it is named by the miner or if some end user just made up a name to sell an unknown agate.

That is definitely BFW jasper. I buy it frequently when I can find it. A lot of it ended up in India.

I never would have guessed the ocean jasper! Looks quite like my Luna agate, to me… haven’t run across OJ yet.

I have a lot of Ocean Jasper, and it all looks different! When the pieces are small like this one, it's not as easy. I am always glad to find full slabs of it to confirm it later though! I think the difference between your sample and mine would be the type of orbs present and the green color, which seems to be present in a lot of the OJ I have.
I have some river jaspers somewhere that are orby like that luna you posted too! I also have some poppy jaspers that have that same almost orby looking pattern, thankfully he wrote on those ones so I didn't have to work too hard.
My favorite OJ are the marked ones. LOL

Here's a rough piece in case this is how you find it.

I am both looking forward to and dreading the future loads. I want more samples to compare, since it’s a lot easier for me than looking at pics, but I don’t wanna clean and sort it all… only orby material I have so far is the Luna, so can’t really tell it apart yet! I did notice the greenish grey area (at least that’s how it looks on my phone), but was focused on translucency vs the color. Silly me was thinking jasper = opaque… I gotta get used to “jasper” is NOT jasper!

cabby it can be overwhelming! I'll help any time I can but I'm the last person who should be helping most of the time. The avatar I have was picked FOR me by the kind folks here. It was nicer than the dunce hat so I went with it. LOL That being said if you ever want photos, let me know, I'll be happy to show examples if it is in my pile of ID'd slabs.

tribeunited holy crap that’s a lot of variety! Why are there a billion different “____ picture jasper” yet just one “ocean jasper”?! Some regions get a new agate/“jasper” name every 10ft for visually identical material yet the entire upper Midwest gets “Lake Superior agate” that comes in dozens of colors or patterns…

You asked me something I know! Because Ocean Jasper is a registered trade name, and in fact there are 3 varities of it I know of. There is Ocean Jasper, Ocean Wave Jasper, and Kabamby Ocean Jasper. They all come out of Madagascar. The kabamby is green and yellow. like this: If you want to see ocean wave jasper, I can dig that out too!
