Ok we went from excellent to jaw dropping in a few moments. I am in love with the hair pin.... LOVE LOVE LOVE The sunflower is amazing. Holy cow! I'm blown away, gotta go pick up my jaw now when I find it. First it fell to the floor, then it blew away. Those are all spectacular!

tribeunited Thank you. I also like the ring. I should do more of those. Don’t know why I haven’t. Maybe worried the size won’t fit the interested people. I think I’ll not worry about that and just make some. Hard stones like jaspers would be best and I have plenty of that.

(I forgot to flip the page and only saw your one post) tribeunited 🤣You’re funny. But seriously thank you. Yes, I want to bring back the brooch.🤓 I need to find some influencers to start wearing them.🤓😂🤓 And the hair pins or scarf pins for winter, I really want to do a whole series of those. I need to continue working on my design. I used a bamboo wood stick but maybe should try metal too.

khara - I think we posted the same instant right when you were leaving so you didn't see it I'm not a smither or a jeweler, but I use hair sticks sometimes. I have one that is mahogany with a silver tip - it is actually from a set of chopsticks that I liked and decided to use. It is probably too long but I don't care because I like it. I don't know anything about the crafting of jewelry, so I can't comment on what material to make them out of - just an opinion. I don't think it would matter what the stick part is made of, it just has to be strong and light and that little bit of glam on the end makes it fabulous That's my 2c.

I use hair sticks a LOT (almost exclusively). My first thought for that scarf pin was “omg I need hair sticks like that!”. I originally planned to add beads to my plain wooden hair sticks, but didn’t want the dangly bits getting stuck in my hair. Plus would stand out waaaay too much in small town Wisconsin, can’t even wear dangly earrings without being stared at. 😆 a bigger version of that scarf pin would be PERFECT!!!

I used chopsticks when doing a Korean binyeo style (cut off 18” last year, not long enough anymore) but ended up buying cheap sets on Amazon for other styles since chopsticks are too long. Only costs $10-$15 to get a multipack so is worth it for daily use. Have wooden ones for everyday wear and plastic ones for when my hair is wet (dries sooo much faster if I put the top half in a bun to get airflow inside). Having a few nicer ones for when I want to pretend that I spent any time or effort on my appearance would be nice 😊

tribeunited and cabby I have decades old fancy hand painted chopsticks that were a hand me down from my mom. She wore them in her hair for years and then I did. My hair was very big when I was younger. It’s gotten less so and now the chopsticks do seem too long. It’s good to know others out there may be interested in these. I’d like to and plan to make more. It’ll be a good challenge and good practice developing a method and style I like. Thanks for your replies!

Thanks for your replies! khara I am the type that hates spending money on clothing or accessories, just buy whatever is cheapest while good enough… but I would struggle REALLY hard trying to talk myself out of a hair stick similar to that pin! Unless the price makes me pale, can pretty much guarantee that you will sell at least one 🤣
