Is there anyway for a novice to figure out what is what when they know they have at least two types of turquoise? I’ve tried learning about different turquoise but can’t quite grasp how people tell some of them apart polished, much less rough! Is this one of those “with experience” things that I can’t do unless I start buying a bunch? 😆

For me, and, I suspect most people, turquoise is hard to identify without knowing the location. There are a few that are fairly easy to ID, but not most.
