The Petoskey Stones look pretty good. Are you able to get a good polish when you are done tumbling?

The Petoskey Stones look pretty good. Are you able to get a good polish when you are done tumbling? Rob (Michigan Rocks youtube) did it using a dry 4th stage with corncob media, which is what I'm gonna try too. I might try an extra step on some of the better stones with wet sanding using 3000 grit silicon carbide sandpaper, to hopefully get a smoother surface finish before the final polish.

Couple new photos, about 1/2 way through stage 3 in the new vibratory tumbler: This is probably the best Petosky I have at this point. And a nice piece of Labradorite - love how it looks like the rock is being lit from the inside. Considering I only paid $25 for 5lbs of rough, this piece is already showing a pretty nice result!

WOW - this one just broke off naturally, and if I go any further with the rotary, it's likely to break in half again. So this one is going into the "for future processing" box. This is from a batch of Mexican crazy lace, I can see this being the two halves of a split heart charm i.e.

That's a great idea. Too bad the right side is slightly boring.
