The first few have very vibrant colors. I have to go with the Spiderwoman Jasper just for the name. The sodalite looks like a lighter blue than what I have seen. Is that a thick slab?

rockjunquie - Thanks! I couldn't make it out exactly, you are right about that. I fixed it! chris1956 - The piece is much darker. It was getting washed out looking in photos. By the time I got a decent photo, the slab was dry! I didn't bring the water outside. This picture shows it half wet... you can see the color better. And yes, a very thick piece of it. I think he cut all his rock type slabs between 7-9 mm thick.

Those are beautiful! And include a few thing that I hope to find in my “collection” someday.

Wow!!!! I have NEVER seen or imagined anything like these before! Maybe I'm WAY over my head in this. Maybe I should just keep my collection to myself!haha

This is a great idea and presentation. So...I have to ask: when are we going to see the other alphabets?

The best part is sharing them! I've just been lucky in that I was gifted a collection, so I share them so other people who love the pieces can see them and hopefully see some unique material. I've got nothing on real true blue rock hounders like yourself. Please don't be frightened! Just enjoy the eye candy and share yours!

cabby - I just checked out your collection part 2 - You found some and your wish was granted! pebblesky - I might have to stay on S for awhile, I barely scratched the surface of S. I'll keep posting them as long as everyone keeps enjoying looking at them!

tribeunited it’s not even been a full today and I already managed to forget about the S thread! Might be getting a touch overwhelmed 🤣 I think this thread is why I immediately knew what that one was! Only thing in the box that I knew…

cabby that makes me so happy! That's why I'm doing it! When I first started, trying to ID some of the uncommon ones was incredibly hard. I was guided to this site through image searches, so I try and post pictures often to help other people struggling with the same problem! Some of the names in my collection bring up ZERO google results, so I decided to make sure someone can find it somewhere!

tribeunited I know what you mean! For now I am just cleaning everything, then will start sorting into thunderegg, seam agate, jasper/“jasper”, etc and THEN try to figure out what things are! I try to do some here and there but come up empty more often than not. Like “nodular bubble lace” from the crazy lace thread… that’s the only result I can find! (Breathe, cabby, breathe). I’m looking forward to learning more but also dreading the frustration. And will probably die of a heart attack when I see what my in laws are using for the countertops and soap dishes and whatnot… definitely hiding the polyhedral agates when they are choosing rocks for the backsplash!
