my facebook memories popped up a picture of one of the first pieces I did, and definitely the first piece that I was proud of (at the time). I slabbed it from rough on my tile saw too - so I was especially proud of this one. I didn't have the experience yet to recognize its fate, spelled out in the big crack across the front. When I dropped it onto the edge of a plastic wastebasket it broke. (But by then I'd made better things.)
This was the most recent piece I made that I was properly proud of. It's not perfect, but it's in a different league at least.
I'm grateful to all of you here at RTH for keeping the forum filled with high quality cabs. Whether I can emulate your best work or not, I can see it! And you can't get better if you don't know what better looks like. So thank You to all of you for sharing your work, your comments, your advice, and your good humor! Here's to another 2 years of progress!

That's a pretty nice first cab and thanks for sharing the memories. That Montana agate is exquisite!

RockingRuralMo - What a journey...and I feel you have every right to be SUPER proud of the amazing progress you've made. That last cab has everything it needs to be upper echelon...shape, polish, and pattern capture are ALL amazingly well done!

What a journey! Thank you for acknowledging all the people who have inspired you along the way. Obviously, they are doing something right judging by your last cab.

Now that is a mighty fine Montana cab! Gotta love a druzy in the middle of a stone.

You know what.. now that I think about it. I’m actually surprised I didn’t see a Montana agate in this months dendrites contest theme.
