Good cabs from everyone thus far. You’re all spot on with what would be classified as orbing through an array of different materials. I should have mine cabbed and posted by this weekend. Finally landed on a material to cut.
I hope you bruised your a$$ in the process...it might be the only way I have a chance!! LOL

Here's my entry, I think Imperial Jasper? Didn't really want to go with this but I don't know if I'll get another one done. 😃 Super thin, couldn't grind it enough to get it flat on the bottom and not much of a dome. Slab

I tried posting as a "quick reply" but it didn't show up so excuse me if I double posted somewhere.
Anyways great theme this month, orbs are my favorite! I have a few good cabs but I still haven't gotten into the habit of taking photos beforehand.
This is a cab that I have the adjacent slab from still, hope that qualifies me. It is a free-form that wasn't intended to be a cab at first but kind of turned into one. I love the green color and especially orbs on it!!
Here's my place holder until I decide what lighting I want to take pictures in etc...
OJ Simpson jasper
...you know I'm gonna say it...
That's "killer"!!

Lost some of the pattern/orbing in the cut. But that’s just how it goes. Tried my best to keep the dome as high as possible without looking absurd 😂
I would still be laughing if you would have had one of your girlfriend's gloves on when taking the pic/vid! LOL

My sparkly MJ glove to show off the OJ

Such beautiful stuff! My cab for this was of oolite but the bugger decided to come apart thanks to some hidden fractures. I may not find a suitable replacement in time so I'mma just going to work on my floor trim and watch from the sidelines.
I'll be right back, I just need go to the garage for a few minutes...

I was going to cut a nice piece of black bruneau jasper. But a hidden fracture had plans of its own. Then that piece of OJ landed in my lap so I decided to send it.

My honey-do list got the better of me as we've been needing me to finish the trim on the first floor of our house for over a year and a half now. I relented and am enjoying working with wood, which is significantly more forgiving than most rocks . It's a nice break.
In other news, I found out why I wasn't getting that glassy smooth finish that many of you have been doing on your cabs. It turns out the diamond paste I had (which I thought was 1.5 microns) was .5 microns. So I was making the jump from 3000 to 50-60k grit in one jump. Turned out that the diamond paste I ordered from Amazon which was supposed to decrease in microns was 5 tubes of 0.5 micron paste. Live n learn

I didn't think I was going to come up something with orbs this month...but I'll submit this one. Not as orby as some other entries...but this is what I've got! LOL
