When I was in college, I took a sociology class. The first day the instructor came in with a big map and held it up for us all to see. I blurted out, "You have the map upside down." She proceeded to harangue me for the rest of the class. I made her point for her, but I was a bad person for doing it. I hated that teacher.

titaniumkid I realize this upside-down map thing could be a shock to those down under...try to stay calm... just hang on and have another vegemite sandwich...  Felt like I've been holding on for dear life my entire existence. Now I know why. I'm gonna make a petition at change.org: Flip the Map Up the Right Way Reasons: 1. The bottom of mainland Aus might look like a butt, but that doesn't mean it should be at the bottom. 2. Dirt is heavier than water, so the dirt-heavy hemisphere (the north) should be at the bottom of the world. 3. England should be the butt of all jokes (no offence to the English... but there's a deep-seated historical resentment leading to this). Thus, it makes sense it should be at the butt of the world map, namely, the geographical south pole should be at Morton, Derbyshire, England. Time for vegemite on toast while I come up with more reasons. Murica don't like them uppity tea baggers either sister! |

Then you guys had a revolution and we've been dumped on by the British Empire since, evidenced by our treatment in the world wars, nuclear testing like at Maralinga, which was basically nuclear testing the Australian population... lots of happy times. |

Then you guys had a revolution and we've been dumped on by the British Empire since, evidenced by our treatment in the world wars, nuclear testing like at Maralinga, which was basically nuclear testing the Australian population... lots of happy times. Our government did some covert nuclear isotope testing on some folks here as well. Pretty unbelievable mass experiments done by some cold-blooded men. |
