Had a quartz rock. Decided to slab it just for the heck of it. Had a quartz slab. Decided to cab it just for the heck of it (and to practice). Always amazing how good these look til I photograph with the iPhone. lol.

Thanks! I need to spend a bit more time at 600 I think, but I've got plenty of quartz I can practice on. Not to pricey (free), and not too far up the Mohs scale (approx. 7)

I think it's looking good neural! I've got a lot of local quartz around these parts. And a lot of the Fairburn Agates and Teepee Canyon Agates (also local) have a bunch of quartz areas in them. I can see a spot in the reflection on your cab where it looks like it "undercut". I'm almost convinced the quartz around here "chunks" off during grinding...on all the wheels. I've noticed that same type of "missing" quartz in a lot of the quartzy pieces I've worked... (For what that's worth. LOL)
