I honestly have no clue what type of rock this is! I tried the picks in different areas, with different angles and pressure, and my results were all over the place. I wasn’t able to CONSISTENTLY scratch it until the 9 pick, although I started scratching more often than not with 7 (barely). Acid test was negative. Too hard for my streak plate. Don’t have a specific gravity setup but it’s surprisingly light for its size. Appears to have lots of little pockets of agate? At 20x magnification it doesn’t appear clastic, looks more like a swirly soup! Mystery rock used CONFUSION cabby is confused! cabby used DETECT but it failed! cabby is confused! cabby hurt herself in her confusion!

Do you know where it is from? if from Aus could be LLoydite (Rhyolite from Northern Territory

All I can tell you is that I haven’t seen any rocks or supplies post early 80s, and he was a huge fan of mail ordering from magazines lol
