Hello!
My name is Johnnie. I’ve been tumbling in a rotary tumbler for a few years now. I just got a Lot-O vibratory tumbler and I’m excited to learn the ins and outs! I love more naturally shaped stones and have made it my goal to learn how best to run rocks entirely in the vibe tumbler. I’ll start with some stage 2 rocks just to get used to the new machine, but any advice for running rocks at stage 1 in a vibe would be much appreciated.

I'll be keeping an eye on this just to see the progression from Rotary to Vibrating as all I have are rotary tumblers. That said, welcome from Washington State!

Welcome from Northern Arizona! Not a tumbler, but we have lots of world class tumblers who'll be able to help you out. You may want to pose specific questions in the Rock Tumbling Board where more folks will see it. Not everyone reads the introduction posts.

Welcome! I have tumbled some rocks directly from stage 2 (120/220 sc) in my vibe tumbler. At the same time one week of stage 1 really doesn't change the original shape of a stone much.

Hi all, I'm not much of a tumbler. Think about getting a tumbler again. Right now I mostly Cab and Facet stones. Been a rock hound for years and a GIA graduate gemologist. Not working professionally as a gemologist just got the degree for fun and improve my knowledge. I hope I get a chance to meet and talk with other members.

Most people don't do stage one in a vibe...as using a coarse grit like you do in stage one isn't recommended for use in a vibe... Hi all, I'm not much of a tumbler.
