here are some cabs i've finished recently including one purported to be "PackSaddle Tiger Iron" from australia. i won a nice slab of it off eBay and was impressed at the pretty patterns, but was disappointed at the way the stuff had a tendency to crumble and fracture when sawing it up. here is a group including the Tiger Iron without flash: and with flash, really pops the tiger iron but washed out the other stuff: and here is that piece of agate backlit: if Trish's last cab was "The Fire's Passing" then this one is "Wildfire Approaching!" thanks for looking and any insight to the do's and don'ts of tiger iron is appreciated....i still have some cabbing material left. Pretty stuff, I really like that plume agate, nice centering on that one.

Those sure are some nicely done cabs KD. Yes, that looks like the same stuff I got called Marra Mamba. I had some trouble with it crumbling when cutting also, I guess it's the nature of the stone. It sure makes for interesting looking cabs though.

Great looking Cabs Kim. That Tiger Iron is pretty impressive, especially with the flash popping those colors out. That agate is cool too....and I couldn't agree more on the name. Steve

WOW! You did an awsome job. Tiger iron's not the easiest thing to get that great uniform shine on. The agates are really beautiful too, but my favorite's got to be the TI

Sweet work there KD- Just Sweet- I tried some of that Tigeriron/ mugglestone/ marra mamba/ Sunset jasper, hematite, tigereye stuff- It is a PITA- Undercuts something terrible- the best lucj I had with it was in the tumbler (yea the cuttoffs and scrapes held up real well??? go figure)

I'm so confused .. are you saying the PackSaddle Tiger Iron and Marra Mamba are actually the same stone? Kind of like that Sunset Jasper and Mugglestone being one and the same?
