This is a stunning jasper agate rough that I got from a local rock shop in Kent. Looked like crap on the outside but once you cut into it, oh so many lovely details. SUPER hard 7+ so it took a while to cut. That said though, the folks at HP were right. With oil the HDT 14 drop saw is a speed demon when it comes to cutting through agates in oil. It would have taken at least 4-5x the time to cut this with water and I would have had to sharpen the saw after each slab. Please allow this noob to eat a little humble pie trying to get this to work with water. Anything with agate or jasper is just too much. Here's the batch fresh off the saw... - Rob

Glad you're happier with the saws performance! It looks like a great machine!! I'm actually very surprised on how little spray/mist there is using NF 70 mineral oil but yes, it cuts much quicker on oil. The problem I'm running into now is the rough I have is too small for it . Gotta get some oil in the 10" trim saw next.
