Love that Willow Creek cab. Thanks James! I've got another preform from that slab that I was going to cab, but I found a fracture right before I started it...so now I have to figure out a reshape.

I scrolled down to the willow creek and thought, "FAVE", then I kept scrolling... can't pick one. Nope. But, those koroits are really special!!

I edited that Karoit...it's only one cab, but three pics to show the fire from different angles. (*I'm pretty sure it's not called fire...but waiting for someone to correct me! LOL) I was literally just on the wheels shaping another Willow Creek...and I'm hoping it's gonna kick the one above to the curb! LOL

Wow. Really nice pieces. Both great materials and cuts. Have you been having much time to wrap any of these beauties?

Yes, but why is one broken??? JK! (reference to my stupidity FYI) I love them all jason - especially the boulder opal. I feel like you made serious art. I have to ask, which is your favorite? Can you pick one? They are all so good! Do you ever work with Malachite?

Wow. Really nice pieces. Both great materials and cuts. Have you been having much time to wrap any of these beauties? Thanks Khara! Well...some of that "great" material came from you! And I can't say thank you enough for the opportunity to work the HELL out of some of it! What an outstanding performance on those WOW. I like ant thing green as far as rock but they all look so good that I’m going with a tie lol spell check on the batch. Thx for sharing ( so jealous of your material I’m going to have to increase the rock budget)lol thx Thanks John! I've said it before...but should probably say it more. I've been SUPER blessed to have been given (or traded) some amazing material with some AMAZING forum members!! Always love the crazy laces. Thanks PS! Seriously...I don't think I will ever get sick of working Crazy Lace. There's something so special about that material to me... Yes, but why is one broken??? JK! (reference to my stupidity FYI) I love them all jason - especially the boulder opal. I feel like you made serious art. I have to ask, which is your favorite? Can you pick one? They are all so good! Do you ever work with Malachite? Thanks Charity! Funny you say something about "broken"...five of these were broken!! - They were either reshaped...or fixed (e.g. Stabilized!)!! - Don't ask which ones! LOL The Boulder Opal is truly stunning in person...and I can't take any credit...it was all nature that did that! Hmmm...interesting you ask about MY favorite. I do like some others than others. There's some "high-end" materials in this batch...but for me, it'd be a three way tie with the Morenci Mine Chrysocolla, the Boulder Opal...and the second Crazy Lace (the least expensive material in the batch! LOL). Malachite?? I freaking LOVE Malachite! LOL - Check these out: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/101047/first-attempt-malachite

I had no idea any were broken at any time - that makes them even better if you ask me.
So yeah, I asked about your favorite because I’m curious which ones you felt the most proud of. I always wonder which the creators like because when they are all so good and of such high quality work it makes me curious. . So I asked you - the creator which ones you felt the best about, because honestly I felt like they all shined!
I asked you about malachite because it seemed like you liked blues and greens a bit. I looked at the link, very cool work. The finished ones don’t tell the story of the struggle it seemed like you had - they all came out lovely.
I wonder if all malachite is softer or different locals make a difference. Hrmm.

I think for the most part, I know which cabs are going to be my favorites when they're still in "preform" shape...before they're even domed. A lot of times it happens when I find a pattern which flows nicely with the shape of the cab. Truthfully, the cab which is my favorite out of this batch, isn't pictured here. It's my entry for the contest this month...not meant as a shameless plug...just honesty! I definitely like materials with color...or complete lack of color (like the white-shaded Crazy Lace pieces). There was a member on the forum when I first started who let me know about the UBRs. I wasn't sure what that was at first...until he let me know it stood for "Ugly Brown Rocks"! LOL - Ever since then, I've tried to shy away from a lot of UBRs! LOL

Wow! You did serious justice to all of them! Great job on the Morenci and the Koroit turned out just yummy. And yes, it's called fire. I have to add that I adore that white and grey druzy centered Crazy Lace. That's my favorite type of CL out of all of them.

I saw your entry and I loved it. I like how the tubey parts look like they're going to pop out and go wild. It's pretty insane!

Those are a bunch of freaking rippers Jason! I too scrolled down to the Willow creek and thought it would be my fave, but they just kept getting better! That's a really beautiful set of top notch cabs!

Such nice work! So many good ones. The first cab pictured is super cool, almost looks like it could have some fire agate! Where is that stuff from?
Also the koroit opals are killer. Great job!!

I have to add that I adore that white and grey druzy centered Crazy Lace. That's my favorite type of CL out of all of them. Thanks My Friend...for everything!! I've got about 35 pounds of that "white" Crazy Lace. Let me know if you want some!! I saw your entry and I loved it. I like how the tubey parts look like they're going to pop out and go wild. It's pretty insane! Thanks Charity! I haven't seen the thread for a few days. I heard the voting's open...and I think there's some killer cabs in there this month! About to check out the eye candy! Those are a bunch of freaking rippers Jason! I too scrolled down to the Willow creek and thought it would be my fave, but they just kept getting better! That's a really beautiful set of top notch cabs! Thanks my friend! If I can get that other Willow Creek I've got on dop to come out the way I want, it's going to look like a leafless tree...but we'll see! Such nice work! So many good ones. The first cab pictured is super cool, almost looks like it could have some fire agate! Where is that stuff from? Also the koroit opals are killer. Great job!! Thank you so much! I see where you're coming up with the "fire"...but no, that has no fire in it. Prudent Man Plume Agate is from Idaho. I got two slabs and one of them was riddled with fractures. I have another slab on the way...I'm hoping it's a little less fractured! LOL I finished up a couple Coober Pedy Opals this week...there'll be a thread with those by themselves one of these days! LOL

My wife keeps telling me to try "new" shapes...but every time I try to put a new shape to a pattern, all I can think is one of my "regulars" would look so much better! LOL Beautiful work, all of them- but that Karoit opal is hands down my favorite! Someday I need to get some of that... 😁 Thank you my friend! I flat out got SO lucky because of the generosity of a "little birdy" on that Karoit!
