Wife saw something on FB saying the property (the collecting spot we all know about) won’t allow collecting anymore. Doesn’t anybody have any more info on this?

Was just there a few days ago (7/21) and was able to collect a bucket full of flint. Some nice big chunks too!
For those who haven’t been there recently, they’ve built a little collection hut at the start of the trail where the rules and prices are posted. They also added a port-a-potty. Someone from the family routinely came out to check on everyone, refill paper supplies, etc. They also had a copy of the funeral announcement for Mrs. Nethers for those who may have met her on previous visits.
There wasn’t any talk that day of selling the farm/closing down the site but that isn’t necessarily something the family would want to share with strangers, especially if a deal hadn’t yet been finalized.
Not sure if this helps.

I went during the 2nd week of August and it was open.
I do also know that in some rockhounding groups on FB, they discourage talking about collecting at Nethers Farm because of past thefts. I sure hope they don't close down; less than a month ago it seemed like they made it nicer than ever. They set up cameras with a lock box and a binder of information for things nearby. $10/person + $1/pound Cash only

Glad I got to meet Mrs. Nethers a few years ago. Even at the new prices, this place is a steal for beautiful flint.
