I have a largely rebuilt Frankenstein's monster of a GyRoc model A (10 lb) I haven't used in a long time as I seldom have a load large enough to feed it. I loaded it up a couple of days ago and plugged it in. It was reluctant to run at first, and I had to spin the upper weight to get it going ( I figured the capacitor was shot). It ran about 1 1/2 hours with the stones churning around the d0nut shaped bowl a full turn every 8 seconds. REALLY aggressive. I kept it moist with a sprayer and it had a thick slurry before I turned it off to check the load by unplugging it (I removed the broken switch long ago). When I turned it back on it ran a couple of seconds and the GFI blew. I reset it and the same thing happened again. So, I'm waiting for a new capacitor to match the new motor I put on it some time ago. I am unable to find my manual and can't recall the right "recipe". I found an instruction sheet online but the instructions were weird- 700-800 SC for the second stage I was running.
I couldn't find the right Tagit Corporation online- just a sotware company. I've seen these machines at Johnson Brothers and so I assume they're still being made. They're really great machines, though pricey, and I'm surprised they aren't more widely used and available. Does anyone have the story on Gyroc? Or the "recipe"?
Thanks, Mark H.

Look for oil ports on the motor. The model b requires periodic lube

I replaced the original motor so the new Emerson blower motor I installed doesn't have oil ports. I did replace the capacitor which arrived today. haven't tested it yet, though. i'm not sure it's the right type of capacitor as ther terminals are not marked. as the ld one was. I think I might need a polarized (?) capacitor which should be appropriately marked. Thanks so much for getting back to me. i'm really confused about the "recipe" for stages 2-4. The machine was running (while it was running) very aggressively with the stones making a loop around the bowl in about 8 seconds. I found that the weights were nearly aligned with each other and reajusted them. I also noticed there is some play in the upper shaft and that the bearing seems a little small for its recess in the "spyder". i wonder if the prior owner replaced it with an incorrect bearing. The lower one is snugly in place and there doesn't seem to beany play in the bearings themselves. Would you happen to know if these machines are still being produced and by whom? i tried to look up Tagit Corporation and all I could come up with was a software company.
Thanks, Mark H.
