Went to Obsidian Tank today….obsidian all aver the place, large chunks, small chunks, the Forrest road spur off Obsidian Tank road is laden with it and the road basically made of crushed obsidian. Was a good outing. Nice drive through the forest back to Flagstaff.

I think it is fairly good, not opitimal quality, but will find out when i get to cleaning, cutting, and shaping/tumbling some.
Frankly, I wouldn’t know the difference in quality I don’t think.

How is the quality of obsidian? It's not Glass Buttes quality. The lava tubes are pretty cool, too. |
