Beautiful cabochon. I have a slab of similar material but I've been hesitant to cut it since it's a more rare rock.

Thank you drocknut rockjunquie All things considered, I've seen a lot of different variation in deschutes in the coloring. The one I cut has more of the blue tones, where as this material is more of the honey/gold color.   |

OOOH! That is a spectacular and huge chunk of rough. This is a good day - I got to see more of your secret stash. That blue Deschutes is gorgeous. (didn't know it came in blue too!) I like that you kept it simple in shape. I think the way you finished it really drew focus to the beauty of those colors and patterns. No worries - looks like you still got it  |
