That is, if they really are rubies..? I have always been lucky in garnets, where I live I can hardly pick up a piece of gneiss free from almandine garnets, but they are of very low quality, and small. But then we went to "pegmatite-country" , southern Norway, where my husband is from, and there the rubies started to appear. And although fun, they annoy me. They are often quite big, looks bright, clear, lovely colours, and still they are/look fragmented/cracked. I do not know what to do with them. They hardly belong in the tumbler after all *lol* Below are some examples, all and any input is most welcome, even being told they are all garnets or rubellites, is better than gathering more of these rocks that are dressed to impress, but with nothing to do and nowhere to go 🫣😜 I have started to give them away to be honest.

What tools do you have? I would be tempted to slice till I found something cabbable. I wouldn't worry so much about the fractures. Lots of ruby bearing stones have fractured rubies. Some will still cab quite nicely. Find a nice face cut.

Lol, if they annoy you, send some my way! ^_^
But seriously, those have stunning color. Finding a cabbable piece might be a challenge but it's a gorgeous specimen
