I can't be more helpful than to bump this so it doesn't get buried. Until someone can help you.... Here's a link from this site that may be helpful - It's got many photos - you might find something close in it? linkAnd this is also from this site:

Here is my best shot but no expert. 1. West Park. Great place but there always are a lot of people there. At least you have a stairway to walk up and down. I have found Petoskey stones in Petoskey that have tiny flecks of similar looking metal. I think they may be chalcopyrite. If you look it up most sources say chalcopyrite is similar to normal pyrite but I did find references saying it could be grey. Also, when I was at Houghton in the UP, we found a lot of similar colored material that people said was chalcopyite. My best guess.
2. Looks like granite. It may have undercut because it doesn't have much of the black mica material in it.
3. Not sure on that one.
4. Interesting rock. I don't think I have found anything like that in Petoskey but I have found banded iron formation rock there so it could be ore from the UP. Did you determine a specific gravity for it? Is it hard or soft?

Thanks for the replies. It takes me a bit to reply as I just had shoulder surgery the other day (there goes my fall rock hunting...), sorry for that. All of the rocks were wet. They've been through stage 2 at that point except the big iron bearing(?) rock, which hasn't been tumbled. I'll have to figure out how to check that ones specific gravity. I saw the mention of the one rock in the other thread, it was actually my wife's find. She was excited!
