Living on mars is a pipe dream! To small to ever have a proper atmosphere makes it impossible to breath without an tank of air from earth, too cold for normal life, no wood to keep warm, no coal or anything else to provide warmth, No Food, It is the perfect example for Inhospitable.
Venus on the other hand is near earth size. its only problem is it is too hot, a problem easily fixed.
We could move ice moons from the outer planets and gently set them on the surface to cool it, but easier and faster/cheaper is to simply build a sun shield between it and the sun.
As night on earth cools the ground about 40 degrees each night, and Venus is at 900 degrees, 900/40 = 21, in just 21 days the planet should become habitable, the atmosphere become manageable, stock the forming oceans and land with plants there would be oxygen to breath and food for animals, Next do a Noah's ark with desired animals; antelope, deer, elk, moose, buffalo, Cows and sheep, and it would become livable and quite pleasant.
