So I bought this 4.5lb chunk of Labradorite from The Rock Shed, but it's larger than I though, and I don't have a good way to do anything with it other than take an angle grinder to it.... Unfortunately, the camera doesn't do justice. I have a small tile saw with a 7" blade which won't cut all the way through. Also have a 4.5" angle grinder, some sanders, but nothing that would cut clean through such a large piece other than my bandsaw.... but it's about $230 for a 105" long carbide grit blade, and I can only cut dry with it. Or I could put a 10" diamond blade on my table saw (same size arbor) for about $70, but again can only cut dry. I'm thinking I could use something like this on the angle grinder for rough shaping & smoothing in 60/70 grit. But after that??? I guess I could try cutting out that nice deep blue section with the angle grinder...

Nice blue, nice chunk. Maybe just hold on to it until you find someone with a big saw.

If you are just trying to get it into smaller of pieces that you can fit into your saws you could try splitting it. Make some cuts following the layers then use a cold chisel and hammer to split it. Haven’t worked with labradorite myself but suspect that it can be split fairly easily with the type of planes it has.

Keep in mind that labradorite flash is directional and you have to cut it properly for it to show

I have some big pieces like that and I just end polished the nicest side and they sit on a shelf as specimens. Some day I plan to make pistol grips out of them.

Don't have an actual answer for you...but please don't consider cutting dry...
