I tried out a new tutorial on this one, as I thought it had a couple of techniques I hadn't tried before, & wanted to try and learn. It's a bit more swirly and flashy, than my norm, but I think it came out OK.
Of course, the tutorial as printed was a bit different - but that seeming almost a standard.
I am amazed how prolific some of these tutorial writers are. It just boggles my mind, how they come up with so many new designs on a regular basis.
Thanks for looking,
Patty

Nice! A lot of great wrapping without strangling the stone. Can I ask how long that took?

Nice! A lot of great wrapping without strangling the stone. Can I ask how long that took? Thanks, Chris. I guess I really should keep track of how much time they take. I seem to do my wraps at night, so an hour here, a half hour there, kind of thing.
I worked on it for a little more than a week, on and off on most nights.
I always tell myself that I should be faster at it, but then of course I make more mistakes when I go fast.

Very impressive, Patty! This wrap shows the stone off well, and still has an elegant wrapping style. Although there's a lot of wire on the back you did a great job getting it nicely tucked in. I can't imagine how long this took to do.

I *love* the precision in the weaving and love the basic idea. My mind keeps wanting to move the stone to the left (as I look at it) to "balance" it better. But I'm really wondering about that--I'm a person who loves asymmetric designs, including in gardening. I think what I am experiencing is a lapse in my ability to adjust rather than a fault with the wrap. I'm going to keep looking at it--it will be an exercise to build up my "out of the box" muscles! Congratulations in tackling and succeeding with a difficult pattern!

Yeah, the backs become my nemesis sometimes. I like the clean look, but with all those wires, as you say, they have to go somewhere Thanks for noticing the back

So this wrap was an exercise is letting go in that way.
If you look at her original design, the wrap on the right, looking at it, was quite a bit bigger, with extra embellishments that I left off.

Well done! I like it. As someone who simply can not do asymmetrical, I really appreciate what you've done. It's very fluid, too, which I like. It looks nautical for some reason. What is the stone?

It wasn't too bad, as those things go, but I did have the tut to get started.
It was figuring out how to finish the one side & securing all those back wires that took a lot of time.
But with any luck I learned something doing it. Well done! I like it. As someone who simply can not do asymmetrical, I really appreciate what you've done. It's very fluid, too, which I like. It looks nautical for some reason. What is the stone? Thanks, Tela.
Sorry, I never said, the stone is sodalite.
Of course the more I look at it on the computer screen, the more I'm re-thinking it, but I think it's a keeper.
On to something else.

... I think it came out OK. ...
I don't wrap, but I wish that everything I do make would arrive at this level of "OK"! Outstanding!
