This is a chunk of yellow lepidolite. Most lepidolite is purple. This stuff is not. It is yellow. Apparently you don't find much of it any more because the one mine it came from is shut down and the people who own the land have no interest in letting anyone on the property. 0 by mrk525, on Flickr More to come if you behave yourselves.

That looks great! I guess once you're in the sphere machine it doesn't take as long as I had imagined. Pretty impressive going from the rough rock to that sphere in that amount of time!
