I guess some folks call it the 'Pacific Northwest', but... Potato-potato, right?
My name is Faeryn. I have been a rock nerd for, well, my whole life, that I can really remember. My dad got me my first tumbler when I was six or seven years old. I was impatient then. I am impatient now. I have had a couple more throughout my life, but I've taken great spans of time away from the hobby and now returning happily. My last tumbling adventures were with stones found inland and now I have more ready access to beaches and rivers, so that makes me very, very excited.
I'm equally a little sad, I may have lost my super cool lapidary grinder that I would love some help in possibly identifying. There's a possibility I still have access to it, but I'm not going to hold my breath about it. However, it would sure make the venture my pal Miss J and I are thinking and talking about getting a bit more serious about.
But... That's neither here nor there right now, not until I find out if it's still there.
I'm getting into fossils this time, partially because I've found their abundance in my riverways but also because it's the aspect to this I can get my kiddos to get behind. And truth be told, Miss J and my kiddos (and all of you folks, I suppose) are the only folks I want to embark on this adventure again with. I want something that's all my own. That no sad, heartbreaking separation or divorce or move from your home and happy place can take away. Mine, (yours, so ours, I guess) but only because you nice people can't/won't take my happy hounding away from me.
Strange intro, I'm sure. But, I'm a strange person. So... There's that. I'm excited to share pictures and swap ideas.
And yes, it does in fact, rain as much as you're told it does, and yes, I take a Vitamin D supplement for that.
(When I say this next part, you reply with "May you have twice the number". That's how it's done in my part of town!)
May you have long days and pleasant nights, Stranger.
