I live in Enoch, just north of Cedar City. I'm just west of the Colorado Plateau. I-15 passes through Cedar City (and beside Enoch). A closer look at the Red hill (and what the Hurricane fault has Done to it - each one of those breaks was a massive Earth Quake). Ancient times were revealed. As you enter the canyon mouth, more is revealed. To understand the area, in ancient times there was the Colorado Alignment - An ancient fault that was widening, then the Olympic - Wichita Alignment broke it. The Colorado River follows the first. Then the Midas Comet hit Shallowly, creating the Sevier Orogeny. The Red Fire is Upheaval Impact site, the Violet pins are Vanadium-uranium Mines, the Yellow pins are locations along Roberts Rift- made by the standing wave reflecting and meeting oncoming waves from Bingham Canyon. The Shock waves liquefied the sand Making possible our over 600 Arches, shockwaves also turned on and off thousands of times per second the quartz crystals in the sand to grab the iron floating back and forth with the water creating "liesegang lines" to produce Moqui Marbles AKA Iron Concretions. The Shock waves also shook water pools in Permian sandstone to vibrate, and rise to the surface through Jurassic and Triassic Sandstone, dragging Permian sandstone with it to create the arch of Sandstone columns revealed in Kodachrome Basin. the repeated impacts eventually broke the continent into two pieces, the created trough allowed the Beaufort Sea to pour in, creating the Western Intercontinental Seaway that lasted throughout all Cretaceous time, but disappeared when the Asteroid hit Yucatan, and the vibrations allowed the Rocky Mountains to break loose, bob up to suddenly appear in the waterway's place.

That impact would have been something to see live, maybe from the moon.

Will today's Geologists ever accept it?
