For fun, as a lil test, I went and grabbed 3 more eggs out of the barrels. 3rd cut, I got plume. I think i've cut 7 eggs in total in the last couple weeks 2 have had plume, 3 have had moss and the the rest lame water line agate. Here's one tonight fresh off the saw.

I know that YOU have a lot of plumes in that barrel… but how long have you owned that material? I’m guessing that thundereggs ordered today will either have none of the plume/moss beds or very little of it.
I am tempted to buy some to check out current stock but A) haven’t learned to cut them yet and B) what would I do with even MORE thundereggs?!
Um, what do you do with the various NOT plumes? Have found plenty of the blues that are too damaged for specimen and the blues are so common…

The only thing that makes my chances better than anyone else’s, is that I have an infinite stock. The rest of the less desirable eggs go in the junk pile.

realrockhound in a couple generations your property will make the AI rockhound pics a reality 😆 As tempting as it is to see what the current stock looks like, I don’t want to buy rocks that I expect to just throw out! I did find some cab preforms using priday blues, but can’t imagine there’s much call for that. Think I will start a bin of “junk” (more junky than yours) that can get used for things like intarsia and epoxy art. Or a third bin of junk, since I already have 2 bins of Brazilian end cuts!

Man, you have some pretty good odds. I think you are being modest. I don't think most people find moss like that in a few cuts. Maybe I'm wrong.
