I really wanted the stone to shine on this one and not have a bunch of distractions so I went about as simple possible.

Very nice bezel set pendant ! The back actually looks like a lute, neck and all. Thanks for showing it.

Thanks, it certainly does. Just needs a few tuning pegs.

Nice work! That stone is sweet, too. What is it? I'm glad you opted for simple, anything more would be distracting.

Thanks! I keep learning every one. Thanks Chris! Nice work! That stone is sweet, too. What is it? I'm glad you opted for simple, anything more would be distracting. Thanks Tela! I'm not sure what agate this is. The slab was a gift from my daughter and SIL. I'll have to ask him and see if he remembers.

I love that cab and your silver work is so very clean. That is one fine piece! It's going to sell fast.
The back of the piece shows some random scratches. Are they intentional, or simply a result of making it? The last thing that I want to do is to deal with scratches on the back. That's why I do a parallel 600 grit scratch finish on the backs of my work. You might give it a try.

I like it. Is the bezel hammered? Your work always looks finished. 👍🏻

I was getting this one finished up right at the end of class and didn't really notice until I took the picture. I like it. Is the bezel hammered? Your work always looks finished. 👍🏻 Thanks Pat! It's just a plain silver band for the bezel, pushed over with a bezel pusher and then worked with a burnisher. I did spend a lot more time on this one trying to get rid of the solder seams. I knew everything would jump out more on a plain one like this.

I'm posting another one here from the same slab. Hoping maybe someone will be able to ID it.

Nicely done rockbrain simple and sweet well done. You did a great job on the back cleaning up the two pieces of I would guess half round wire for the bail. For me it’s always tricky to clean up takes a lot of patience. Bezel looks great folded over nicely on to the stone very clean work. Thx for sharing (waiting for the next one)

Double half round wire with split down the middle for the bail. I'll be working on the next one tonight as soon as I finish up a pair of earrings. I've got some ideas for a nice piece of Maggot Agate. I'm going to accent the pattern of the stone this time. We'll see how it goes.

Excellent back detail- I love me some engine turning
Here's something to check out, it's a set of texturing wheels.
I use the .3 mm ones - adds a simple brushed finish on a back.
Only thing, you have to pay attention to the speed you use them at.
Look forward to seeing your maggot agate
