I did do some googling and found a lot of info about the crystals, garnets, tourmalines and beryls, but I'd like to find some agates and jaspers. I'll pick up some nice granite, too, because I actually like polished granite.
I'll be visiting Acadia Park and staying in the Casco Bay area, near Brunswick. Lots of coastal areas that MAY produce some jasper and agate.
Anyone have any experience finding jasper and agate along the southern beaches downeast?

My mother grew up on an island there and my people were all fishermen and lobstermen. You bet your sweet petunia that I'll be hitting up some lobstah rolls. Oddly enough, on the way up the Eastern Shore of Virginia, just past the bay bridge tunnel, there is a lobstah truck that has amazing Maine Lobstah rolls. Odd place, but genuine. 20 bucks a pop!! Never actually had a Po Boy. I'll be sure to try it.

Eastern Shore Maine roll. 2 HUGE claws in this one with a light coating of mayo- just as it should be.

Po'Boy, Lohbsta' roll it's all the same to me, delicious. Last time I was up stopped at a little shack ordered and went out to the van. A very few moments later I returned to the establishment and said I'd like to lodge a complaint. The owner looked at me somewhat shocked and said what seems to be the trouble. I said, well, I got to the van and suddenly, the sandwich just disappeared. I then smiled and complimented them on how fantastic it was. He seemed to get a kick out of it.
I'll keep my eyes open for the truck next time in that area.

We were there this summer. Not sure how close it is to Acadia N.P. but there is a stretch of shoreline called Jasper Beach in Machiasport, about 45 miles NE of Acadia. We didn't get there.
