My daughter said she wouldn't get another dog after her dog Fletcher died, but Sage kinda dropped in her lap. Sage is a young 6 year old Weimaraner. My daughter has known her her entire life. She, Sage, belonged to a good friend. The friend was unable to keep her and was given to another friend who crated her all day, which was torture for Sage, who has a lot of energy. So, my daughter was asked to take her. She was thrilled to! Sage is such a good dog. And so beautiful. She is a pure breed Belgian with papers. In Belgum, the breed is smaller than the American standard, so she is on the small side, which is perfectly ok.
Sage is a lucky pupper. She gets to go to work everyday with my daughter. She is so well behaved, it's no issue. Here she is at work today. (My daughter works in doggie daycare. She gets paid to do what she loves!)

Looks like a happy dog. Everyone I know who has a Weimaraner loves them.

Congrats on the new family member. She would rather have a Rhodesian, but Sage has melted her heart.

Congrats on the new family member. She would rather have a Rhodesian, but Sage has melted her heart. Hounds do have their own irresistible character in the dog world. Of course about all dogs are full of selflessness and have so much to offer in their given category.

Nice addition to the family Tela. Dad got a Weimaraner pup and trained it to retrieve ducks. It sure loved the water.

I dearly love Wimmer-Wammers. Sage looks like a darlin'. Our old girl passed long ago but now we're looking for another. My wife shattered her ankle 6 years ago and after 2 surgeries is still having lots of pain. She walks every day with her stick to defend against javelina, building up her strength and endurance so she can walk a new pup. They're smart critters and funny!

I hope your wife doesn't run into any. YES, she needs a dog on her walks. A Wimmer Wammer would do fine. (Never heard wimmer wammer before, either.)
Around the corner from me, there used to live 2 wimmer wammers. It was a fenced yard, but whenever someone rounded the corner- especially kids- they would seemingly step right over the fence to go and happily greet their new friends with tails wagging. After their friendly greeting they would just pop right back into the yard. Too cute.

When we got our Trudy (short for Gertrude, her German name) the breed was fairly new in the U.S. People would ask what breed she was and I'd respond "Veimarauner," giving it the German pronunciation. "Oh, you mean Weimarauner" they'd respond, giving it the English "W" pronunciation. Next time I was asked I'd get the opposite correction. So I finally settled on Wimmer-Wammer as a compromise. It seemed to satisfy most people.
