Whelp, I done gone and done it. A local auto body shop was selling a DP 65t and I bought it. I've got a 4lb vibratory, and a harbor freight rotary, but this beast is a whole different game. I've given a lot more time and effort to cabbing previously than to tumbling.
I probably should have considered what I'd do with it before I made the guy an offer, but there's not a lot of equipment local to me, so sometimes I grab first and ask questions later.
Anyway, now I've got to figure out what I'm going to do with it. I've only done pendant sized pieces before. What do you guys do with the big guns? Do you just fill them fuller of the same pendant-sized stuff? or do you do more interesting things?

Wow, that's a seriously large tumbler. Of course you can do a lot of rocks at a time. About 65 lbs in your case! But the thing I like about big tumblers is you can do big rocks. You should be able to do some pretty large stuff in there. You still want to do a mix and do a lot of smaller and medium stuff too and plenty of cushion. That beast will use a lot of grit. I'm guessing about 4 cups for a load. I've found the best price for grit in bulk is from Johnson Brothers and although they can be painfully slow on shipment the grit seems to always go right out. I think it's prepackaged in flat rate boxes. Congrats on the new toy.

Congrats on your new piece of weightlifting equipment! You are going to need a larger vibe tumbler or the patience of a saint to finish stones in that beast. For the price I pay for my electricity: I bet my utility company would gift me one of those for free.

I hope you have a 3-person team to help unload that beast! LOL I can't wait to see what BEASTS you get done in that monster!
