It came from one of those 50-cent slab bins at a show with no ID. It cuts a nice cab and looks familiar but I can't quite put a finger on it.

Thanks, that hit me as a possibility along with Carrasite or maybe even an oddball type of Imperial Jasper. I'm not that familiar with all the varieties of Tahoma (sp?) that Starguy suggests, so I'd consider that too. It's nice stuff.

I think it pretty well nails it down as Morrisonite.

dandresow: Thanks. Haven't done anything with rocks for years. Just fixed an older HP 18 inch and dug out a 10 inch and 18in Lortone and I have a couple of trim saws and need to make something to cab with. We stay broke and I only have enough to put oil in 1 Dec 1, 2024 16:49:20 GMT -5 *
