Ok, I was gonna edit in another couple photos of another one of the coyamito pseudomorphs that came in the lot but the sites being funky (or more probably I just don't what I'm doing). This is still considered "cabbing/tumbling" rough which seems like a bad joke cuz I'm not sure where to cut it and id never put this one in a tumbler. It is super cool in its rough state. I just wish I could see what the crystals that were stuck in it looked like!! Finally, I don't have it here at home (took the rough to my workshop) but neither the African bloodstone or the Argentinian banded plume agates have photos so I gambled ordering them. All I can say is that the Argentinian banded plume agate is REALLY nice looking material. I think it may also be called Patagonia agate through other sources. Highly recommended, my 1lb lot was a single nodule weighing about 1.25lb and has nice pink banding and a little moss/plumes at the edges. The African bloodstone is nice as well, it has silver metallic flecks in it and some red/white/green sections. Don't hesitate to order, its all good stuff. The 1970's malawi didn't seem quite as high grade as the stuff I got a year ago but I have a feeling I just got a really nice piece that time. Still good quality. I looked at getting the baby coyamitos but the scale in the photo seems that they are very small (pea gravel) size. Might make for some good (expensive) tumbler fill but not for me. As always, thanks for looking

Does anyone know what kind of crystals would have been trapped in the second stone? Definitely hexagonal, my guess would be quartz. I'd love to see them. Better yet would be to get one of these agates still with crystals attached. I'm guessing they came out millions of years ago.

jasoninsd I cabbed that piece you tagged. It was one of the end cuts so I had to grind more of it away than I woulda liked but I am super happy with the results. I love orange agates...right in time for pumpkin season And about sources for materials, I used to go back and forth between keeping my sources to myself but I've more recently decided to tell all I know, the more lapidaries means more pictures to look at Next season I hope to start making trades of the wisconsin moonstone for stuff other folks collect. I probably have around 200 lbs of it right now but it is just one recycling bin full, I feel like thats not too much!!

Very nice! What do the "cherry orchard" African bloodstone and Argentinian banded plume agate look like? I will try and take a picture of them next time I get to my shop. I've been putting it off because I know I need to shut everything down for winter

Thanks for sharing! The bloodstone looks like it has a bit of variety.
