It is some type of brecciated rhyolite. The people at lapidaryslabs.com call/sell it as Nevada Brecciated Hickoryite. I purchased it near Deming NM but have not found anyone in the Deming rock shops that knows for certain what this material is called. I hate making up B.S. names for things. I know the "Nevada Brecciated Hickoryite" name is a "brecciated rhyolite" I just want to know the correct lapidary name for the material.
Has anyone seen this material before?
Can anyone verify the name of this material?
Thanks for looking.

I wish I could help you, you've been so helpful to me. So I'll try the best I can, but it's not much to be honest. First - I'm pretty sure you know it isn't confetti agate - you said yourself it's a rhyolite. I'm also pretty sure you know what confetti agate looks like - but for those who don't I'll show a photo. That said, there's a confetti jasper - also from Mexico - here's a link to it. link
Hickoryite to me looks a lot like wonderstone, so I'm really not seeing where the brecciated hickoryite name is coming from. I also thought that Hickoryite is from Mexico, and that website says it is Nevada Hickorite. If you hadn't said it was a rhyolite, I would have guessed a brecciated Jasper - being Nevada I can only think of an off version/variation of sunset jasper. See? Not helpful at all.
