Been patiently waiting for months to see if Covington would take over and start producing Lortone tumblers but I don't know how much longer to hold my breath & assume many others are also waiting to order.
In the meantime is there any other tumbler (specifically interested in double barrell, 3-6lb capacity) that folks would recommend instead?
It's hard for me to know what's good quality or not from looking online..
Currently using a Rebel 17 but it's too big for me (a beginner) & I am anxious to move past a hundred coarse stages & start actually polishing! If I wait until enough rocks are ready with this thing, will be another year - OR I will completely ruin my first batch because I still struggle to get the load right (too much, too little, how much water, etc... still getting bruising even with tons of ceramic cushioning, thickening slurry w/ old grit, etc...). Would rather experiment with small batches until I am confident in the process.
Thanks!

I have the single barrel 3lb version of the Highland Park Tumbler (in addition to my Lortone tumblers). I got it a year ago and haven't had any problems. It seems well made. Highland Park tumblers: hplapidary.com/collections/rotary-tumblers

I have the rebel and also have Harbor Freight and Highland Park double 3 pounders. I have had no issues with either one; I like the Highland Park more for no real reason. We still use both of them for coarse on smaller or "special" batches and finish everything in a vibe. If I used a rotary for later steps it'd be in the smaller ones. I've actually only done coarse in the Rebel. Still wind up waiting for enough to finish.
