Sabre52 jamespAS I had mentioned a while back I have an opportunity to tumble, cut and polish a nice supply of Texas Wood. Most of this wood is from ranches southeast, south and southwest of San Antonio. I have manage to tumble polish about 70 pounds and cut and vibe lap polish about 6 - 12" x 10" flats which the owner and I recently divided. Here are a few select pieces from my half. Shrinkwood tumbles IMG_6106 by Findrocks, on Flickr The other side of the larger one; IMG_6108 by Findrocks, on Flickr More Shrinkwood IMG_6109 by Findrocks, on Flickr Pocket wood or Shrink wood? IMG_6125 by Findrocks, on Flickr Another Teredo Wood IMG_6126 by Findrocks, on Flickr I have a couple pieces of Snake wood that still in the queue and several different Palm wood pieces with mixed color. Then there are some that I cannot identify as they seem to be a mixture of different formation conditions. Wild stuff. Henry

All of those are eye candy Henry. Nice shrinkwood and nice variety. Thanks for posting, can't get enough TeJas pet wood. "Nice Shrinkwood" and "chromosome" wood are my favs, wow. The wormwood is too cool.
They all look like pet wood to me, no confusion on these. Much Texas wood is difficult to know if it is wood or not. And then there are other petrified plants that are not classified as wood. Who knows what types of plant life existed back then.
Could "wavy interior" be palm or palm root ?

jamesp There are a couple pieces in the tumble queue which have the wavy reeds exposed on the outside, they definitely have the palm look. There is some Palm root that is really wild with all sorts of odd things going on. Have a piece cut for the Vibe Lap that has an almost fern leaf structure deep in the wood. Someone a lot smarter than me could probably identify some of this material.

Wow! The patterns on those are amazing! Especially the middle one in the third pick. And the Toredo wood looks like it came from Mars, not Earth!
