What is the best thing to use for slabs to makethem shiny or look almost wet? And would anything possibly help hide those fractures and strengthen it like resin possibly?

The correct polishing equipment and belts/discs. Another thought, is to exchange a couple nice slabs in trade for someone with the right equipment polish the slabs for you. And there are some compounds out there with the addition of a vuccume chamber that could stabilize the cracks in the slabs.
