Hi all. At long last, a new batch of tumbled stones, some good, some not so good, but you get to see them all. These went 60/90 until they were shaped, 10 days in 120/220, 14 days in 600, 7 days in 1000 and 5 days in Tin Oxide. The whole batch minus the Blue Lace. The green stones are a pictureless picture jasper and they didn't take a real good shine and may go back for a few days. The highlights. Carnelian Montana and some colorful moss A few lakers including a green one A small piece of snowflake obsidian and who says you can't tumble peitersite? And a whole plateful of Blue Lace Agate. Until next batch, thanks for looking.

Ooooooo that blue lace is so pretty and so is the carnelian. That's a wonderful colorful batch and it looks like they got a super shine on them too. That's one thing I've never done is carnelian but I think I might have a piece downstairs, must be time to break it out. I mean slab it up!

Oh I do love that carnelian and the moss agate and the blue lace. You get such a nice shine! Great job! I love the pics too, just the right size!

I'm not sure what those are Cher, they were in a bag of cab preforms I bought at the rock show earlier this year. They took a great shine, maybe I should have cabbed them.

Thanks guys, this will probably be my last batch for awhile. We're having our house re-piped in copper and I'm going to have to tear my shop apart so they can get to the existing pipe. UCK!!! So maybe by September I'll have the batch of opalized wood done.

Nice batch, Stoner. What'd you get stuck with? One of those houses with an early type of plastic water pipe?

Say it ain't so Ed! Ye Olde Hippie Workshop is to be renovated? Well, now you can plumb it and have electric outlets wherever you want them. Long live the New Hippie Workshop!

No plastic pipe here Rich, steel pipe that is rusting from the inside out. It will be nice to turn on the bath without having brown water come out for the first 2 minutes. Not to worry Joe, only half of the New Hippie Workshop has to be cleared, unfortunately it's the half that has my tumblers and cabbing machine and all(or most) of my rocks. We're talking 21 years of stuff that has settled into a comfortable niche that has to be moved. Oh well, I needed to rearrange things anyway, this will give me an excuse to finally do it. Hmm...maybe I should take before and after pics.

Do take before and afters, Ed....what are you gonna do without a cabbing machine for so long or are you just gonna move it to somewhere you can still use it?
in a similar vein, we have to almost empty our garage to facilitate the removal of our underground oil storage tanks and the installation of a new above ground (garage housed) tank. it's costly with the risk of being even costlier if there is a leak in the process. if that happens we might as well just walk away and leave the keys to the place in the driveway....
nice batch of tumbled, love the shine you got with the Tin Ox. good luck with the re-plumbing!

The plumbers are showing up at 8am next Tuesday, so I should probably start clearing the way today. They said it would take about 4 days to complete, so that means 2 weeks. YIKES! Stephan, I'm going to have to put all the rocks, my table saw, cabbing unit outside on my driveway, so you got my address, if you want it, come and get it. And yes, Tin Oxide is all I use and I have to give credit for that to James.
