finally took some out of polish this evening.....and of course my photos dont show the true shine....but i am slowly figuring out how to show the shine.....just bear with me please.. in the middle is bloodstone...mostly without the blood...to the left is all pet wood...right is jasper....top right is hematite...top left is red and regular tigereye...botton is amy...and clear stuff that came from a salted mine in N.C. ![](http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c386/fittycents/th_exppolished.jpg) ![](http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c386/fittycents/th_exppolish2.jpg)

That's a really nice batch. The ammy's came out nice and didn't fracture, which is amazing since they were mixed in with the bloodstone. The shine shows up nicely.

They look nice Kevin, good job. What did cp think of them? I find it never works trying to get good pics in the direct sunlight, they always look too washed out to me. Indirect sunlight or shadowed with the light on either side seems to work better for showing the shine without causing the white glowing spots. I like those clear ones, like ice cubes.

Nice batch! I'm working on some clear and amethyst quartz now too. Funniest thing, we use little tumbles in our sand sifting game in our gem club kiddie booth when we do our show each year. I donate all kinds of fancy tumbles for the sand box and year after year the biggest hit with the kids are those clear quartz stones. They'll sift sand all afternoon trying to find one while rejecting really fancy material. Guess they think they look like diamonds.Go figure huh?.....mel

thanks everybody
cher..cp likes everything we have done with any rock good or bad...every time he walks by a bowl that has rock in it...he picks some up...goofs with it for a while...then moves on...hes itching to get at the workforce more...but i have been working a lot lately..maybe this weekend.
rockyraccon...the hematite was tumbled 5 or 6 peices in diff loads....i started a bunch of it in 1 load with some other stuff...but didnt like the mess it caused...i then started adding 5 or 6 peices here and there to other other loads...just to cut down on the red mess...this load of 14 or so peices went in together to polish...mess wasnt bad...but slurry was still a dark pink...heck even borax was pink.
sabre 52...yep...for some reason everybody seems to pick up the clear ones.
thanks...stoner..bikerrandy..joe..stefan...and everyone else.
