Looks like you've ID it correctly to me. Yours is more pink that what I've seen here ( ours is sort of more purple and the Aussie stuff comes in blue) but I would say that's what you've got anyway....mel

KD my lepidolite (and what I've read about the stuff I got) supposedly doesn't have any fractures, my stuff is all one uniform "gumdrop" color & texture - not saying it isn't lepidolite, but it looks nothing like my rough - nor the cab

Tweetie: I think what both of us have seen is pretty much pure lepidolite. The pink piece pictured looks like lepidolite in quartz so it's not as homogeneous a material as we're used to seeing....mel

Mel did yours look like a gumdrop? all sugary in the rough? polished it's a little dimpled - very, very soft too -

Tweetie: My blue example is a slab, the purple is a broken off vein hunk with some tiny red tourmaline crystals on top. Not in nugget form at all but mine is from the Pala region near San Diego. Yours sounds like Wyoming or Montana material which occurs in stream tumbled nuggets......mel

i think Mel might be right, as there were harder bits (quartz) and then the purple sugary bits that were like soft sand. overall it looked like a raspberry burrito.

Yup KD Lipidolite and quartz- and may I add- a Wonderful example!!! outstanding color- and great solidness (as far as Lipidolite goes!) I have some of the more purplish stuff- but also have some of the pink with Red tourmaline- it is neat stuff! Oh a very beautiful cab there also!
