I am going to guess Dino Bone or Petrified Palm Wood. Mind you I am going by what I have seen on here and being color blind that's as close as I could come. Harry

Pet wood, no idea what kind but then I don't have a forensic kit handy either. ;D Looks great though, beautiful color and grain in it. Way cool Ed, got anymore?

Okay, I'll fess up now. Joe was the only one who actually got it right. I made this cab from a piece of walnut, so you might call it "pre-petrified wood". Making a cab out of wood rather than stone is a lot quicker and with enough coats of lacquer, it shines up just as good.

Pretty sneaky. My first thought was pertified palm wood. Second guess was petrified hard wood flooring. Steve

Hey...that's a good idea! I think I have some more of this amboyna burl wood that I made this pen with so I might try it. It really polishes up well. -Dennis

Man Dennis that pen is a buet. I collect fountain pens and that one would be a great addition to my collection.
