I have been so busy at work that I don't have a lot of time to work on my rocks. I did get a few cabs made on my grinders. My tumblers have needed to be changed to final polish for over a week. They did get a good extra pre polish. My daughter and I will try to wash them out and switch to polish tomorrow. I can't wait to post the pictures of the final polish. 1 Drum is full of some nice Petrified Wood. The other is Agate, Jasper and a few other stones we found. Here are the cabs. All are Travertine Onyx but 1. I got some Sodalite on E Bay. You will know which is the Sodalite. Some 8 mm Thick slabs.. Thanks for looking

Those are some sweet looking cabs. I like all the different patterns in that material. It seems like there's an awful lot of hidden talent that goes unseen on this board.....Thanks for posting those cabs. You do some fantastic work. Steve

Those are some nice cabs. I like working with oynx because it's fairly soft, yet takes a great shine. Excellent work.

The kite shaped one with the 4 eyes is my favorite. I have several with tight banding that I am about to take out of polish. I will post pictures in a few days.
When you get to silversmithing, dont overlook precious metal clay - it is a useful convenience!

Yep - Nice Cabs there NMOnyx! I see a little John Sands influence in your shapes. Good to know that the Travertine is good material for cabbing. I haven't cut mine yet but I don't think I'll mess with it until I get a grinder.

I gave up tumbling the Onyx. I just could never get it to shine. The buffer on my grinder makes it shine like glass.
