I got a call from an old buddy of mine and of course the conversation turned into a discussion about rocks, and he's telling me his Grandfather was a rockhound way back in the 40's and until he passed away in the 70's. Then he says there are a couple of burlap sacks of rocks in his mother's garage, the ones his grandfather never got around to doing anything with. So he stopped by today and we dumped them out on my driveway-Holy Crap!!!! There are rocks in there that I've never seen before that are really cool looking. I'll take pics of those tomorrow. And in this collection was a handful smaller Morgan Hill Poppy Jaspers and one chunk that weighed about 10lbs with just about every color I've seen this stuff have in it. So here is a cab I cut from one of the smaller pieces. What do you think? 30x26mm

Wow! That is come brightly colored Poppy Jasper! I love the way poppy jasper comes in so many variations and colors. A ten pounder is huge for these days. Hardly ever see anything but small stuff You gonna show some slabs from the big hunk?..mel

Thanks everyone. Sorry, no pics yet of the rest of the rocks. I spent the day today trying to get my DSL connection working again. AT&T's "tech support" leaves a lot to be desired. But I did take some time to look more closely at some of these rocks and I will have pics tomorrow, I promise. Hey Mel, get your books out, I want to know what some of these are. They are amazing.
