Hey all, I posted this in the cab section along with some others, but I thought you I would post it here as well. Daniel sent me the slab that was part of the Virtual Cab Contest and after looking at it in person, I decided to use the same part of the slab as I did in the contest, but chose to make it an oval. This stuff is extremely hard and really took a great shine. 30x22mm Thanks Daniel, I hope you don't mind I changed the shape.

Very nice cab, Ed! Those billowing orbs form a pattern that look like some kind of fossil. -Don

Looks amazing, looks like something emerging from a cocoon!
That one gets my vote for a "manly cab"

I agree about the nice execution. I also see the cocoon or fossil. Actually, the organic looking subject is why I never worked this cab myself. I don't like stones that look like something I wouldn't want to touch. LOL.
Glad you found it easy to work. Any plans to cut another cab from the slab?

Thanks everyone. Daniel, one of the reasons I didn't do the same shape as I did in the contest is because I didn't want to waste the entire slab on just one cab, so yes, there will be at least one or two more cabs coming from it.

Just for fun, here are the oval cab submissions for the contest that used the same feature: The 1st one seems closest to Ed's cab. My favorite submission went just above the yucky bug stuff and made a sort of cave entrance or grotto. I like scenery in stones, so it is easy to see why this was my favorite:
