While I was at the jewelers today getting my wife's ring taken care of, I looked in one of the display cases and this butterfly caught my eye. It's made from rainbow obsidian and it looks fantastic in person. These pics don't capture the color very well, but believe me, it is awesome. Especially how the bands of color flow with the shape.

I like the butterfly much better than the hearts they usually cut from this material.

Hell yea I bought it John. It's about 2 1/2"x2"x1" tall and the colors just flow all the way across the top of the stone. I may try to make one of these. I'll try to get some better shots of it.

Thats a trip Ed, the person who made it has a good eye for that type of stone. Wenrics has some cool stuff for sure.

If the color bands on the second pic are anything like what it looks like it is beautiful. Tami

WOW when I first saw this stuff, I thought "Damn, there's nothing Ed can't do!" Holy crap! I've seen hearts on Sierra Madre's site but that butterfly takes the cake! It's unbelievable - i didn't even know there was that much color within, I've only gotten two or three color bands (but I suck!)
Can't imagine the work involved in that!!!
