Kim- The churches are made of adobe (mud, straw, water). Both are over 200 years old.
Ed- *LOL* We have many native trees in New Mexico. Cottonwoods grow near any water source...Pinons, Cedar, and Aspen above 9,000 feet. Not many deciduous trees, but New Mexico really DOES "green-up" in the Spring...even in the desert. The SE corner of the state is the least attractive area.
Good rockhounding, though... ;DS

Beautiful pictures. This is a great idea for a new thread. I would love to see pics of where everyone lives. The surrounding area is a good indication of the rocks there! Sheri

I live in the SE corner. We have plenty of trees! In fact, I live in one of the largest forests remaining in the US. Granted, all the trees are about waist high, but they shed acorns just like their stately, water fed northern brethren.
But sadly, no rocks in this corner.

Yea I got that Cabin Fever thing- Supposed to warm up this week so I think I'll strap on the XC skis and take a little trip! Nice pictures!
